Hajin (Jenny) Kim
About Me
My name is Hajin Kim, and go by Jenny. Currently, I am a third-year majoring in Finance and Data Science in Northeastern University. I was originally born in South Korea, but I also lived in China, Texas, California, and Boston. These experiences shaped my unique perspective on diverse cultures, economies, and ways of life. I got to understand the interconnectedness of the world and develop a global mindset.
Ever since I was young, I looked up to my dad working in corporate finance. Naturally, my academic curiosity developed in gaining practical insights of the financial industry trends. Recently, my personal interest in AI and technology increased as well. To combine my two main interests in AI and finance, I decided include data science as part of my study.
Going forward, I plan to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges, solutions, and outcomes of the integration between AI and finance in the global economy.
My Aspirations
Combining my personal and professional interests, I plan to enter the work force full-time in the FinTech industry after graduation. I already had interest in risk management, investment analysis, or portfolio management. Recently, my interest in emerging technologies have grown, so I took this opportunity to learn about the ethical AI implementations. This helped me frame my credible opinion and demonstrate flexibility in my communication styles about implementing AI bias mitigation strategies into the financial sector. Utilizing different genres of writing, communication styles, variation in research, and in-depth analysis and application to finance, I will continue to observe the AI impact across the global financial industries.

My friends and I started a start-up and got it officially incorporated after pitching to investors. It is a Text-to-Speech AI focused business, and currently I am taking the role in managing and planning finance and operations.
